'Uniquely Oregon' Conference
Oregon teachers who want to learn about civics from the experts will have a tremendous opportunity to do so on Friday, Dec. 4. “Uniquely Oregon: A Conference on Oregon Government” will take teachers inside the state legislature and court system as elected officials discuss how they put civics lessons to use every day at the state government level.
This day-long conference takes place on “Oregon Civics Day for Teachers,” a day set aside by the state legislature to mark the significance of civics education in our schools. The conference will focus on such critical issues as the the Oregon Constitution and initiative system, landmark state court decisions and how the state's legislative process really works. And, at the end of the day, teachers will take back to their schools armloads of fresh, compelling materials that will bring our form of government to life in the classroom.
